Greetings one & all!

What a great school John Brown Francis is!  Twelve years ago, my husband and I built a home here in the JBF community.  At the time, our oldest child was about to enter fourth grade and was apprehensive about leaving her friends behind.  I was concerned about taking her away from a town with an outstanding school system.  The day we arrived to register Michaela at JBF, all my fears and some of hers were put to rest.  Mr. Ricci and Mrs. Perry were in the office that day and helped us with the required documents and answered all of our questions.  While we were there, Mrs. Perry called out to a woman who was passing by and introduced her to me and Michaela.  The woman turned out to be the JBF PTA President and she also had a daughter in the fourth grade.  She made the suggestion to Mr. Ricci to place Michaela in her daughter’s classroom and he obliged.  Then, her daughter was asked to come to the office she and Michaela went to the classroom where introductions were made, and all these years later I still remember that day and so does my daughter….fondly.

The point of my anecdote is that our little school has always been a friendly and warm place for our students as well as their parents.  As the current JBF PTA President, I would like to extend a hearty welcome to our newest students and their families…and a great big welcome back to our returning students and their families!  We invite all of our parents to attend our monthly meetings to share your ideas and concerns regarding how to better our children’s elementary school experience.
